1981-1986 Baseball Cards Price Guide Magazines #1-19

Regarding articles, Baseball Cards Price Guide was way better than Beckett. Regarding pricing, I think that Beckett more accurate--at least through the 1990's. These magazines also included some pretty cool "cards that never were" before that was really even a thing. They were called Repli-cards back then. Baseball Cards magazine actually came out more than 3 years before Beckett as a magazine (1981 opposed to 1984). To be fair, Beckett did come out as a yearly almanac in 1979. I was able to acquire all but 2 of the first 19 magazines for Baseball Cards. It's now time to part with this collection.

The 63T Countdown has Begun!

When I started this 1963 Topps journey, I thought it'd be the last 60's set that I'd complete. Actually, it's not too far from being that, but that's not really the point. I actually never expected to go anywhere with this set. I valued the 62T set and the 64T seemed really cheap (next to 68-69) for this era, so I didn't know what to make of the value for 63T. The first 400 or so cards seemed affordable enough, but I wasn't interested in paying higher rates for those last 130 or so cards. Somewhere along the way I found myself only a 9-pocket page away from completion. Norm Bass completes my Kansas City team set. and really starts the final countdown for this set. Except for the #537 P. Rose RC, the rest of these should be fairly simple. Let's say before New Year's 2023.

A Rare 67T Acquisition

It's been a long time since I've added a new 67T card to my collection (and it'll probably be a long time before I add another). Tommy John is an $80 BV card that I had been looking to pay about $12-$16 (15-20% BV). I actually saw one of these for that price some years ago but didn't make the purchase. Now, we're lucky to find one of these for 50% BV. I finally gave in and pulled the trigger. I'd like to get this set down to substantially complete since I'm running out of 60's cards on my wantlist. My 67T set is now only missing #581 Tom Seaver RC and #605 Mike Shannon. I may be able to add 1 more of these to my collection before calling this set done. Overall, my 60's collection is only missing exactly 50 cards. I'll probably be able to bring this down to under 40 cards before I'm done. Besides 61T highs, 63T Pete Rose RC, and 67T Tom Seaver will be mostly non-starters for me.

2019, 2020, 2021 Baseball Hall of Fame Magazines

As a President's Circle member of the Hall of Fame at Cooperstown, I receive their bi-monthly magazine as well as their annual yearbook. I thought that that I'd pull these out and share some pics of the covers of these magazines.
