1951 Topps #A34: Grady Hatton, Cincinnati Reds

Grady Hatton played mostly for the Reds during 9 of his 12 MLB seasons between 1946-1960.  Hatton was known for his defensive ability at 3B, earning him a spot on the All-Star roster in 1952.  He led the league in 'Fielding % at 3B' twice and 'Double Plays Turned at 3B' once, as well as numerous Top 10 finishes.  He also made the Top 3 in 'Putouts at 3B' five times and Top 5 in 'Assists at 3B' six times.  Hatton appeared on the HOF ballot twice in 1966 and 1967, receiving up to 1.3% of the vote.  He should be considered to be a Minor Star for his day.
