2011 History of Topps insert set #HOT1-10

This 10-card insert set depicts some of the significant events in Topps history over the years.  The most significant one to me is card #2, which commemorates Topps' first set consisting of 106 cards (52 Series A+ 52 Series B + 2 Updates).  The next most significant one to me is #4, which commemorates the start of the standardized card, measuring 2.5" x 3.5".  Since there were Traded cards in 1972, 1969, and even in 1951, I don't really acknowledge the 1974 start date depicted on card #6 but I understand why they picked that year.

2011 Topps 'Before There Was Topps' insert set #BTT1-7

The 2011 set was full of cool insert sets.  This one commemorated some of the major set releases prior to Topps.  I was a collector of 4 out of the 7.

1966 Topps Set Countdown: #547 Horace Clarke

The addition of Horace Clarke to my collection leaves me with only 7 missing cards to complete the 1966 Topps baseball card set.  I've had to slow down my set building during the last few months due to travel and relocation.  During 2018, I moved from one coast to the center, and now to the other coast.  For 2018, I decided to downsize my collection to only key sets, which for now means all Topps/Bowman from 1948-1991.  Remember the nearly 100,000 card bonfire I had earlier this year?  Well, it turned out fruitful, since I ended up movin again before the year was up.  I managed to sell off almost everything down to 2010, and up to 1922, which was really only a small chunk.

For 2019, I plan to continue breaking up my modern sets into Base, Update/Traded, and Inserts to sell off online beginning with 2010 working back about 2 years at a time.  At the other end, I plan on starting with my 1922 American Caramels and working up through my Goudeys and Play Balls.

Other 1960's sets that are close to completion include 1965 (-1) and 1967 (-9).  I've already completed 4 sets from the 1960's, including 1960, 1962, 1968, and 1969.
