1967 Topps Set: Key Acquisitions

Today, I added 2 key high-number cards to my 1967 Topps collection.  This now brings my '67T set to 600 cards out of 609 total.  I haven't actually received these 2 cards yet.  They were ordered online, and the pictures below are what I had available to make a decision.  From what I was able to see and read about the sellers, I feel pretty confident about the authenticity of these 2 acquisitions.

I found the Brooks Robinson #600 for $49.99, which is just a penny under highest price I would have been willing to pay.  There are many fakes available online, but I haven't seen an authentic one going for under $60 in over a decade.  In fact, I haven't seen one of these for under even $100 in a few years.  This is a PSA 1 graded card that I cropped for this blog post, but it won't be for long.  Graded cards don't fit into my binder pages so this'll become a cracked slab like the rest of my victims.  Even without a slab, I'd feel pretty confident of this cards authenticity.

I found this Red Sox #604 team card for $24.99 online, which I thought was a pretty good deal for this card.  I was actually hoping to find it for under $20 eventually, but I haven't even seen one of these going for under $45 since I started paying attention to '67T highs.  It looks authentic, and the seller's ratings are also good, so I'm sure it's fine.  I'll give a once over when it arrives and insert it with the rest of the set where it belongs.  This is a big acquisition for me too since the Red Sox where contenders for the World Series that year, and my set was left without the team card in front.

I'm now only missing 9 cards to complete the 1967 Topps set: #535, 572, 577, 578, 581, 592, 605, 606, 607, 609.  The only one I expect to give me any real trouble is the Tom Seaver RC.  It's hard to find one of those for under 50% BV, but I'm not interested in it for anything over $150.  Of course, I'd have to be certain of it's authenticity even without a slab because it'd be going in my binder pages with the rest of my collection too.
