While I was out plowing the snow off my dirt road, I dropped off a few letters and noticed some packages in my mailbox. I didn't expect the mail to be delivered on a federal holiday, but perhaps it had been sitting there since Saturday. Either way, the many vintage cards I discovered was an original Topps card of then Yankee veteran, Johnny Mize. The acquisition of this great Hall-of-Famer at the end of his career completed my 1951 Yankees team set and brought my collection to within 15 missing cards.
Here's the page from my set binder containing the Yankees team during the peak of their 5-year run at consecutive World Series victories. It would have been nice if J.Dimaggio had a last card in this set, but he didn't have many cards during the post-WWII years.
