1955 Topps #2: Ted Williams, Boston Red Sox, OF

Ted Williams was coming off a league leading Walks and OPS year to begin his 14th MLB season in 1955 (having missed 3 years to WWII)  Williams would be selected to his 12th career All-Star team and would lead the league in Intentional Walks for the 1st of 3 consecutive years..  Only two years removed from batting .407 during the regular season, Williams would bat .356 in 1955.  His 28 HR's were good enough for 3rd in the A.L.  He'd continue playing through the 1960 season, and then take a managerial position with the Senators/Rangers organization between 1969-1972.
