Sid Hudson was traded to the Red Sox for W.Masterson and R.Gumpert in the middle of the 1952 season after having pitched for the Senators since 1940. The former All-Star would pitch his first full season for Boston in 1953 at the age of 38, retiring at the end of the following season. Hudson started 17 of his 30 games for the Red Sox in '53 with 156 innings pitched for the veteran.
Here's a page from my 1953 Bowman binder depicting Sid Hudson with some of his teammates. I've integrated the Color (x160) and B&W (x64) sets as well as the 2015 National Convention custom reprint set (x5). I'm still looking to add the B&W extension set (x16) to complete my '53B collection. This Sid Hudson acquistion represents my first original '53B-B&W card.
