Ray "Rabbit" Powell entered into the 1922 leading the National League with 18 Triples, and coming off the most active season of his career, which spanned from 1913-1924. Powell would have the 2nd best Fielding Pct. for N.L. outfielders in 1922. After the 1923 season, he was traded to the Phillies along with Hod Ford, but after refusing to report in Philadelphia, the Braves decided to send another player to Philadelphia and kept Powell. He ended up playing only one more season with the Braves before they released him during Spring Training in 1925. Powell continued his career in the minors with the Cardinals system, eventually ending his professional career with his hometown club of Siloam Springs, Arkansas in 1936 just shy of his 48th birthday.
