1941 Play Ball #9: Pinky May, Philadelphia Phillies, 3B

Pinky May was a National League All-Star in 1940.  In 1941, May led the league in Putouts, Assists, Double Plays Turned, Range Factor, and Fielding PCT as a 3B--pretty much every defensive category.  His career lasted 5 years with the Phillies between 1939-1943.  He then served in the military during WWII in 1944-1945.  Pinky's son, Milt May, caught in the majors for 15 years between 1970-1984, winning a World Series with the Pirates in 1971.
