1940 Play Ball #39: Tom Carey, Boston Red Sox, 2B/SS

     Tom Carey (aka Scoops) was mostly known for his defense as a middle infielder.  He was an American League top 5 middle infielder for Putouts, Assists, and Range Factor a times during his brief 8-year career, which spanned from 1935-1946.  Carey started with the St. Louis Browns before finishing out the majority of his MLB playing days with the Red Sox.
