1922 American Caramel 240 Series: Charlie Grimm, Pittsburgh Pirates, 1B
Perhaps best known as a Chicago Cub, Charlie Grimm also spent 6 of his 20 MLB seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He originally came up with the Athletics in 1917 at the age of 17, and then made a stop with the Cardinals before going to the Pirates in 1919. Grimm would later be traded to the Cubs along with Rabbit Maranville in 1925. In 1922, Grimm played in all 154 games for the only time in his career, batting .292 with 173 Hits, 28 Doubles, and 13 Triples. His best season with the Pirates was probably in 1923 when Grim ranked league top 10 in Batting Average, OPS, Games Played, Hits, Triples, RBI, Singles, Putouts, Assists, Double Plays Turned, and Fielding Pct.
