Jack Kramer was born on 1/5/1918 in New Orleans, LA.  He began playing for the St. Louis Browns in 1939.  Kramer missed the '42 season due to military service during WWII, but went back to the Browns the following year.  He appeared in the '44 World Series loss against the St. Louis Cardinals, but was responsible for pitching a complete game victory.  Kramer was selected for the All-Star team during his last three seasons with the Browns in '45, '46, and '47.  In 1948, he was traded to the Red Sox and led the league in Winning Percentage that same year with an 18-5 record.  Kramer was traded to the NY Giants in 1950, and then to the Yankees in 1951 where he finished out his career.  Jack Kramer passed away on 5/18/1995 in Metairie, LA at the age of 77.
